Infertility and Adoption Support Grant Information

Beginning in April 2023, IAS will now award grants on a quarterly basis.

Applications should be submitted via US mail. The deadlines are March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, and December 31st; the complete application (and any supporting materials) must be postmarked by one of those dates in order to be reviewed in the month following them.  We cannot be responsible for postal delays.  If an application (or any supporting materials) is not received by the deadline, it will be reviewed in the following quarter.

Applications will also be accepted via email to general@infertilityandadoption.org, and must be received by the quarter’s deadline.

Application Process

  • Complete the application and include the following:
    • For Infertility Grants:
      • Letter from Doctor
      • Personal Statement
    • For Surrogacy Grants (please use the Infertility Application):
      • Letter from the doctor of the Surrogate or the Agency that is facilitating the surrogacy
      • Personal Statement
    • For Adoption Grants:
      • Home Study (please note, if your agency requires that they release the home study directly to our organization, please note this on your application.  It must be received by the application deadline.)
      • Personal Statement

When to Apply

When during the process should you apply for a grant?

Infertility Treatments

We recommend that for Infertility Treatments, you apply once you have a diagnosis and a treatment plan in place with a doctor.

Surrogacy

We recommend that for Surrogacy, you apply once you have been matched with a surrogate and have a plan in place to transfer embryo(s).

Domestic/Embryo Adoption

We recommend that for domestic adoption, you apply as soon as your home study is complete, and your application is ready to be shown to expectant parents.

International Adoption

We recommend that applicants submit an application after their child has been identified.

Eligibility & Terms

Infertility and Adoption Support, Inc. accepts applications from couples and individuals regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, marital status, or sexual orientation.  

Please note the following criteria:

  • Must have a completed, approved, and current home study (for adoption grants)
  • Must currently be going through treatment with a licensed infertility doctor or be in the process of surrogacy (for infertility grants)
  • If the adoption has been finalized, you are no longer eligible for an adoption grant.
  • Applicants must be associated with a licensed infertility doctor, surrogate mother, adoption agency, or attorney.
  • Applicants must be a member of Infertility and Adoption Support, Inc.
  • Applicants must be active in IAS support meetings and must have attended at least 2 support meetings in the 6 months prior to applying for the grant.
